Brenè Brown is one of my favourite up lifters. Her research on shame, vulnerability and whole hearted living opens up the darkest places inside ourselves and let's the light in. In one of the videos marathon streaming on my iPad, she says this: "When perfectionism is driving, shame is always riding shotgun and fear is the annoying backseat driver." "If I look perfect, live perfect, work perfect, I can avoid or minimize criticism, blame, and ridicule."
